The MCPASD Education Foundation Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that its first grants will be issued in the spring of 2013. The grants committee will be meeting later this month to determine the process that will be used. MCPASD Education Foundation board member Shawna Bertalot addressed members of the Middleton Chamber of Commerce at its monthly Get Moving Middleton morning breakfast on Thursday, June 14 at the Hilton Garden Inn. Bertalot told chamber members about the foundation’s mission, programs and financial goals. Her six-slide presentation also focused on the positive benefits of partnerships between local businesses and the foundation. The MCPASD Education Foundation has received two significant pledges in the past two months. On Tuesday, the Education Foundation learned the Madison Gas and Electric Company Foundation has pledged $10,000 over the next two years to its endowment fund. MGE contributed $5,000 to the endowment this year, and will contribute $5,000 more in May 2013, according to Lynn Hobbie, a senior vice president and a director on the MGE Foundation board. Jason Warholic was named the winner of the MCPASD Education Foundation Logo Contest. Warholic will receive a check for $500 for his winning entry. His design will be used as the foundation’s logo on brochures and letterhead and in any branding the organization does, Education Foundation Specialist Perry Hibner said.
